Several years ago I personally witnessed Nelson Mandela, standing in front of his former prison cell on Robben Island, addressing the world's press. His message was that the pandemic of HIV/AIDS in africa was in fact, a genocide. Since that time I resolved to do as much as I can to bring attention to the HIV/AIDS crisis.

On 9th June 2010 Annie Lennox attended the Women Deliver Conference in Washington DC to take part in a plenary 'Women Need A World That Delivers' along with Leymah Gbowee, Executive Director, Women in Peace and Security Network, Narges Nemat, Women’s Refugee Commission, Timothy Wirth, President, United Nations Foundation, moderated by Bachi Karkaria, Columnist, The Times of India.
