Several years ago I personally witnessed Nelson Mandela, standing in front of his former prison cell on Robben Island, addressing the world's press. His message was that the pandemic of HIV/AIDS in africa was in fact, a genocide. Since that time I resolved to do as much as I can to bring attention to the HIV/AIDS crisis.

The Oxfam Curiosity Shop Launch

 

On March 31st Annie Lennox attended the Oxfam Curiosity Shop launch party at Selfridges in London. The evening included an auction during which Annie performed four songs (Sweet Dreams, There Must Be An Angel, Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves and Why) raising over £31,000 by allowing the audience to bid for each performance. Other items in the auction included Livia Firths Oscar jewelry, an impromptu Opera (from Impropera), a cookery masterclass with Lorriane Pascale and lunch with Jimmy Choo. The event raised a grand total of £208,985 for Oxfam Circle projects and celebrates the start of the Oxfam Curiosity Shop at Selfridges which runs from 1st - 10th April.
