Several years ago I personally witnessed Nelson Mandela, standing in front of his former prison cell on Robben Island, addressing the world's press. His message was that the pandemic of HIV/AIDS in africa was in fact, a genocide. Since that time I resolved to do as much as I can to bring attention to the HIV/AIDS crisis.

Annie Lennox Attends 'Women Deliver' Conference Opening
This morning Annie Lennox attended the opening of the Women Deliver 2010 global conference, in Washington DC. The conference runs from June 7-9, 2010. The theme of the conference is: "Delivering solutions for girls and women," focusing on political, economic, social/cultural, and technological solutions. Annie will return to the conference on 9th June, in her capacity as UNAIDS ambassador to speak at the "Women Need a World That Delivers" seminar.
